Tom‘s Training Update 2.07

Due to overwhelming demand and to mitigate confusion I‘ve seen in many of my students who are new to firearms ownership in Maryland, I have adapted, with some help from Maryland advocacy groups, information that should walk you through the process for getting the Maryland Handgun Qualification License (HQL) and explain who needs it. On []

Course Completion Report (08/01/2014)

Today we had another one-on-one class session for a student seeking to obtain his Maryland HQL. The class proceeded well from start to finish and the new shooter is well on his way to being a great shooter in his own right. I will remain in touch and happily help out as I can during []

Tom‘s Training Update 2.08

I realize that I‘ve left a month out of the upcoming training calendar (September), which was originally an accident. However, I have to travel to Egypt for my primary job from mid-September until early October, so I‘m going to take a small hiatus on the training schedule and resume courses again in the early autumn. []

Tom‘s Training Update 2.10

Hello, everyone, turns out that my regular job (which isn‘t firearms instruction, believe it or not) needs me to travel last-minute to Nigeria beginning on the 29th and returning early in December, probably around the 8th or so. I‘ve canceled the class that I was going to hold on November 29th this weekend as I‘ll []

Tom‘s Training Update 2.11

I‘ve returned from Nigeria and must say that Abuja is quite beautiful. However, the work was rough and the nights were long since we were pushing it pretty hard in the office. I was very thankful that no one signed up for the December 13th class as I was still recovering from my trip this []

Tom‘s Training Update 3.01

Welcome to 2015, everyone! I‘ve scheduled the first class of the New Year on the Schedule page for interested students - it‘ll be a Basic Pistol course so that we can stay warm inside during the shooting portion of the class. However, you may have noticed that I‘ve only scheduled the one course for the []

Tom‘s Training Update 3.02

ACS Firearms Training is back after a lengthy hiatus! I was sent to several countries in Africa and Southeast Asia for my day job and was away for so long during late February and throughout March that I haven‘t had a chance to teach a class, let alone update the ACSFT website. Now that I‘m []

Tom‘s Training Update 3.03

Happy Memorial Day to all and please remember those who have given all so that we might be free. In ACS news, classes are now scheduled through July 2015. I was once again sent to India for work and wasn‘t around in late April or early May, but take a peek at the Schedule page []

Tom‘s Training Update 3.04

WOW! Summer flew by and after a trip to Ukraine for work and a longer, better trip to Scotland for vacation, I had no time to keep up with the TTU writing. I think I‘ll dial back the training updates to a quarterly basis to keep it simple. For now, I do have some courses []
